Returns, refunds, and RMA

The 30-day window, what's excluded, and how the RMA process actually runs.

Orders & shippingUpdated Jul 19, 2026

The short version

  • Stock parts: returnable within 30 days, unused and in original packaging.
  • Printed-to-order parts: made for you; returnable only if defective.
  • Firmware: tied to your account and model — not returnable, but also never lost.
  • Batteries: shipping restrictions apply; do not post a pack without an RMA that says to.

The authoritative text (including refund timing) is the Returns and Refund Policy.

How an RMA works

Every return needs an RMA number before you ship anything.

  1. Email support@spaltx.com with RMA and your order number in the subject line. Say which items you're returning and why, and attach photos for any defect claim. (This one is email rather than a support ticket — the RMA number is issued by reply.)
  2. We reply within 2 business days with the RMA number, the return address, and a prepaid label where the return is our responsibility.
  3. Pack the items protectively with the RMA number written on the outside, and follow any battery instructions we give exactly.
  4. Ship within 14 days of receiving the RMA. Returns that arrive without an RMA number, or more than 14 days after it was issued, may be refused or processed at a deduction.
  5. We inspect within 5 business days of arrival and email you the outcome.

Refunds go back to the original payment method — we can't redirect one to a different card. Budget a few weeks end to end: up to 5 business days to inspect, up to 5 more for us to issue once approved, and typically another 5 to 10 for your bank to post it.

Defects vs crash damage

Manufacturing defects — dead-on-arrival electronics, delaminated prints, motors that fail in the first flights without impact — are covered. Crash damage isn't, but crash-damaged parts are exactly what the store's spares categories exist for, and logged Hangar history often makes the defect-vs-crash conversation short.

Warranty swaps and firmware

If a warranty swap replaces your flight controller or drone, your firmware entitlement carries over — it's on the account, not the hardware. If anything looks missing after a swap, see Firmware entitlements and downloads.
